If you're looking to level up your skincare DIYs and start creating creamy lotions and gorgeous textured creams. Then a natural emulsifier is a great addition.

Our natural emulsifying wax is also known as Olivem 1000 and is widely used in natural skincare formulations as an emulsifier and a thickener. It's is a naturally derived, plant based emulsifying wax derived from olive oil.

This natural emulsifying wax is a great place to start if you are new to emulsions as it's easy to use and doesn't need expensive equipment. You can use this ingredient in your artisan lab or kitchen.

Due to its natural Olive origins, this oil-in-water emulsifier penetrates quickly and gives a wonderful smooth skin feel and gorgeous texture. When you use it to create creams they are pure white and smooth.

Why use an emulsifier?

Emulsifiers are used in creams and lotions to mix water with oils. We all know that water and oil do not mix but stay separated, so an emulsifier is needed to keep the water and oil together.

Recipe - here is a recipe that shows how you can use this emulsifier to create creams and lotions. It's a great beginners guide.

Formulation Tip: When using Olivem 1000, you can use Cetyl Alcohol to give your cream a silky skin feel. You can also add some Olivem 900 to reduce soapiness.

We typically add 1% Cetyl Alcohol when using 6-8% Olivem 1000. If you're formulating, try experimenting with different ratios of Olivem 1000 and Cetyl Alohol to see what skincare feel you prefer.

INCI: Cetearyl olivate, Sorbitan olivate

Suggested Usage Rates:

You can use this as the sole emulsifier and how much you use depends on what viscosity you prefer.
3 - 4% Light, low viscosity (thinner cream)
6 - 8% Thicker viscosity products (thicker cream)

Use level: 1.5 - 10% as the sole emulsifier.

Temperature: This melts at temperatures of between 61-67C but it can be heated to higher temperatures if needed. We heat our formulations to 70C.

 PACKAGING:
